P3 Day 20 - About to Burst!

My lunch was so protein heavy that I didn't think I should eat dinner, but I went ahead with dinner to be on the safe side. I bought an Arctic Circle Grilled Southwest salad, as stated below; however, I kept the dressing, removed the corn and beans and did not eat the shell bowl (I saved that for the kids to nibble on). So, what's below is a touch inaccurate as far as dinner is concerned. I feel like I'm about to pop! It's actually okay because I didn't get all crazy hungry like I did yesterday. I felt hunger pangs before lunch and probably would have been hungry again but that lunch? Man oh man. Talk about filling!

Hubby is gone and I miss him terribly. We don't do well apart. The only positive side to his leaving is that I can get to bed earlier. Oh, well. I'll be busy with the Babe's last dance competition tomorrow and cleaning up my fairly dirty house. I don't think I'll mop, but it sure needs dusting. It's been snowing (Ugh!) which is keeping us indoors and away from the park. The girls really need to run out their energy and soon.

Here's the full tally. I hit 1500 again and boy was the fat count high. It's just weird to see it in black and white, you know? The protein is crazy high. This is what I'll need when I start weight training again. Oh, and I had a .4lb loss (things got moving last night and this morning...again, this always helps):

I had a loss today. Woohoo! I'm not sure about the nutrition content because I used lean ground beef and turkey pepperoni. That may have changed things a bit. I had a.4lb loss from yesterday. [edit this diary entry]

P3 Day 19 -Whoa, Nelly!

I had more carbs today than I've had in a long time. Amazingly, they all came from veggies/fruit (avocado). I hope it doesn't sabotage me tomorrow. I've been so hungry today. I know my TOM isn't due for a couple of weeks, but could I really be having cravings because of it now? Ugh! I can't go down in flames during P4...I just can't!

It's a process for me to get back into work out mode. I've been mentally preparing myself to get up again at 4:45am to do my thing. Yes, it's early but I start my work day early and I prefer to get the blood pumping in the morning. I'm also more likely to do it in the morning than in the afternoon (too many kid activities happen during the afternoon, so then I tend to just say, "Forget it!"). I'll start with my elliptical trainer and cardio videos first, then slowly move into my weight training.

Tomorrow, I will make the "No Dough Meat Crust Pizza" recipe for my weekend treat. Next weekend, I'll try the recipe Susan suggested (see yesterday's comments for the link). Hubby is away again this weekend for another competition. My daughter also has her competition this weekend (her last of the year, thank goodness), so I'll have to find ways to amuse myself. I like computer games and Office Depo.t has had a sale on theirs (buy one get one free). I purchased two a few days ago. I may have to go back for more. Gotta keep my mind of the food if TOM really is reeking havoc with cravings.

I was up .4lbs and I have a feeling it's because I'm kind of sluggish and need a void. Hope it shows up tomorrow (I wish I liked Yogurt because I'm positive that would get things moving). I'm have a feeling having some quiet time with the "porcelain god" will help out lots. Here's what I had today:

P3 Day 18 - Hubby Preps Me for P4

He brought home Werther's chocolate caramel swirl and low-carb tortillas. It's wild to think that I'll be into P4 on Sunday. I want pancakes but I have a feeling they'll make me terribly sick; however, even if I had a stack in the morning, I'd do high protein the rest of the day. I'm also incorporating my workouts again (which should balance everything out).

It's a little odd because I'm resetting for a weight I don't plan to keep for long. I know that I'm learning how to do this now so that after round two, I'll know exactly what to do (at least, I hope so). Round 2 will happen in or around June.

I bought some liquid Orange Stevia and put some in my water. Um, not so impressed. It was wonderful on my grapefruit, though. The citrus orangey flavor gave it quite a nice taste. Oh, I was up .2lbs this morning at first, but then I got on the scale again and was the same as yesterday. I dunno. I always document the first reading.

I made a Loaded-Potato Cauliflower dish for lunch. Yum! It was so rich and delicious. Hubby was even impressed. I could certainly tell it wasn't potatoes, but it was still good nonetheless. It contained cauliflower, sour cream cheddar cheese, green onions and bacon. Wow!

P3 Day 17 - Destroy the Trojan Invaders

I got a nasty, nasty virus on my work computer yesterday. I had to do most of my work from my personal computer, which was a total bummer. Our IT moved my files to a new computer and I'll start working on it Thursday (I think). For now, I'll be on my "risky" computer being as safe as I possibly can. The recent Trojans are nasty and I warn any of you who use a computer on a regular basis. Get to know "bleeping computer" (the web site) and keep a copy of combo fix on a flash drive, just in case. Once it's in your system, it must be obliterated.

Enough on the tech scare, I had a 2.6lb loss from yesterday. I'm glad the steak and grapefruit expunged the retained water from my system. I was able to eat regularly today but my salt intake was a little high again. Despite all the water I'm drinking, I do need to watch my salt more closely. It will hinder progress quicker than anything I've experienced in P3.

P3 Day 16 - Steak Day!

So, what do you get when you eat salt-laden Canadian bacon for dinner? Why, a steak-day, of course. I should have known. When I used to "diet" and eat Canadian bacon as a staple, I always retained major water. This time, it was to the tune of a 1.8lb gain in water. Nice. (It's the way that they cure the meat.) You know, over doing the salt and carbs is what's going to get me in P4 if I'm not careful. I'll really have to watch those two things.

I think calorie and fat wise I was fine, yesterday. Salt was my enemy and thus the reason for my fast. It was a hard steak-day and I certainly do not like them. Doubly hard was that my work computer picked up that blasted Trojan virus, which made things even more difficult. The consolation? Hubby fasted today with me, so I wouldn't have to suffer alone. What a guy!

Sadly, but not unexpectedly, I was 161.4lbs this morning. I think 161 is my water retention weight.

P3 Day 15 - Low Carb Mini Pizzas

Oh, yum! I found the recipe on the web and then tweaked it a bit for P3 usage. I've entered it into Recipezaar and will add the link, once it's available. Even hubby liked them (in fact, he ate the remainders. I now have no leftovers. Guess I'll have to make more). I won't be doing the IHOP omelettes again anytime soon, since I had a .6lb gain from yesterday. That was way too much. I honestly didn't want dinner last night, but knew I'd sabotage myself if I didn't. Anyway, lesson learned.

Today, we ate at Golden Corral and it was all about protein and meat for me. I missed my waffles and french toast, but the breakfast was really good regardless. I had two cups of coffee with my brunch and enjoyed the half and half. It's weird that it brings so much pleasure, my cups of decaf. This was true during P2 as well. I'll be glad to hold onto that pleasure in round two.
