R2, P4 Day 3 - July 28th (a day behind, again...)

I've got to get to bed earlier. Seriously! Things just aren't good if I don't get enough sleep. Cool news, though; I worked out, yesterday morning. Wow! It felt great and I went longer than I initially planned.

Not having performed any sort of cardio for a while, I gave myself a 20 minute max to work with. It's a good idea to start off slow, when you've been in dry-dock for months. Well, I'm chugging along on the elliptical and realize that I'm doing okay. Nothing is burning uncontrollably and my heart-rate was at a good, steady pace. I kept going. Thirty minutes was my log time. Hooray! But did I stop there? Of course not! I grabbed some light, free-weights and ran through three sets for my biceps, triceps and shoulder-caps. I'm not sore today, but I have a feeling that I will be tomorrow (it usually takes a day or so for my body to figure out what I've been doing to it).

I'm off workouts today, aside from a stroll with hubby later (maybe). He wants to do a guest-pass at a gym tomorrow, when we take off for our trip. Back in the gym...that ought to be interesting. I'll certainly have to pace myself there and make sure he doesn't have me on every machine, trying it out (that crazy man). ;)

I was up in weight, yesterday morning, but I know it's because the salt is here and TOM is on the way. I opted for a mostly protein day, only getting my carbs from the Julian bread (love that stuff...just wish it weren't so dang expensive) and ketchup from my burgers (not much). Please note that the Daily Plate takes your workout time away from your total calories, so the calories listed are net not gross: Here's what I had:

Food for Day 16

I had pancakes this morning (whole wheat and they were much better than I thought they would be). I also had cereal this evening. Everything was so good, today. The salt was a bit on the high side so, I'll do better tomorrow.

Nothing's changed. I'm still 162.4 since TOM arrived. It's finally gone but it does take a few days for the water to go away. I suppose I'm not helping by eating all this salt. Again, I'll do better with that tomorrow.

P4 Day 13 - Being Neighborly

We were all watching H.Potter (the fourth installment, since my eldest just took her A.R. test on the book) when our neighbors stopped by. They wanted to thank my hubby for mowing their lawn, yesterday. They're an older couple, raising their grandchildren (you know the drill). Their mentally disabled sister was hit by a car and they've been out of sorts since it happened. Their lawnmower broke and as soon as hubby heard, he went over to care for their yard. It is this that defines his entire personality, and the reason why I adore him so much. His hard is as wide as the great outdoors.

I missed lunch! Not on purpose, mind you. It was crazy today and I just munched on lots of nuts to keep my protein up. Hubby brought home Swai fillets and crab legs. I wasn't crazy about the fish (first time having it), but the crab legs were superb! I'm glad they are allowed on P2 and I'll be sure to have some, during that time again.

My first workout this morning! It was 30 minutes on my elliptical trainer and boy, did I miss it. I'm still retaining a lot of water, so I didn't even break a sweat (highly unusual, under normal circumstances...but we are talking about evil-TOM). Here's what I had today (daily plate subtracts the calories you burn so you have to add them back to get the true total):

Hard to Give up the Spoon

Hubby came home early, last night. Pulled muscle groin had him in major pain (at least, that's what he thinks it is). He goes to the doctor on Friday and will ask her what she can determine. Anyway, he initially wanted to work out together last night (cardio) but that got nixed. No complaints, since we just spent a lot of time together. We took the babe to dance, scooted on over to a Block.buster that is closing it's doors.

Anyway, I would have gotten up and worked out but we were in the best spoon ever. Didn't want to let it go. I guess the work out will get pushed to this evening, after Indy's dance class. I'm trying to do something everyday (aside from Sundays). I've done pretty well so far. Double work outs would be best and will garner the best results, I know. The day after my double elliptical workout, I felt the hollowness I like. Can't wait till I'm comfortable in my tens again.

Sometimes, You Just Need a Treat

I had a good day and worked hard at keeping the salt levels down. I've seen that some days I'm below 1200, which isn't good, but who knew low salt levels and low calories correlated? I guess I'm just glad I'm seeing movement in my weight. How about 182.2 this morning (even though it's not a weigh day)? I worked out last night and burned around 680, which I'm sure made a difference. I hope to get in another workout this evening as well (I'll have time while the babe is at gymnastics). Which reminds me, I've got to find out what policy is for "taking a break". She's been going strong with this since she was six years old. I think she would appreciate having her summer (and mom, having a bit more money in her pocket).

I had a glass of Alice White Lexia last night, along with some dark chocolate we picked up the last time we went to Trader Joes'. That would have been over a year ago now? We were in Washington for one of Hubby's body building shows. Wow! Time sure does fly!

Here are Tuesday and Wednesday's totals:

Calorie goal: 1,318; calories consumed: 1,329; calories burned: 0
Net calories: 1,329
Mood: Okay

Busy work day today. Thought it would never end. Tomorrow, a meeting with my boss about what things I've accomplished. I've been so busy accomplishing that I haven't had time to document the accomplishments. Oh well.

Worked out in the evening on the elliptical. Burned 670 calories.

UPDATE: The Muscat wine I had was not Woodbridge but Alice White Lexia, which I adore this time of year. The calorie count should be the same, however. [edit this diary entry]

but sore. I worked out to Standing Legs yesterday and I'm barely able to do said standing today. This morning? My elliptical on program 3 (275 calories). Hard to push it when your legs and butt are screaming in agony.

Hubby took me to lunch today. The restaurant is called Sampan, so I used what I could from daily plate to guesstimate my totals. I hope they're close enough. No workout tonight. [edit this diary entry]
