R6, P2, VLCD 4 - Over the Hump (Sort of)

I spent most of the day cooking; my stuff, hubby's stuff, my kids stuff. Goodness! I thought I was going to be buried in food. Hubby is preparing for a show and is eating very clean. I was preparing his sauteed mushrooms and I baked his asparagus. I also baked his salmon. I continuously washed my hands so that  the oils didn't permeate my skin. Speaking of permeating, I also went ballistic when  sprayed my hair with my glycerin. It was so dry and I thought I could wait a few days for the natural oils to kick in, but I seriously wouldn't have had any hair left if I did.

Back to the cooking, hubby bought me Orange Roughy so, I prepared that and some cabbage. The girls were allowed to splurge this weekend, so I brought home a Rotisserie chicken from Target, steamed some vegetables and whipped up some mashed potatoes.  I'll work on my asparagus tomorrow (I've had enough of cooking for a bit).

My headache was around a bit this morning, but I think it's made its way out finally. I didn't need any pain meds and I was good about drinking my water. I want to be better and get back in the habit of drinking two or three of my 32 ounce bottles per day. In the meantime, I'm sucking down the herbal tea regularly.

I was 196.6lbs this morning, which is a loss of 1.6lbs. The roughy can be fatty and I may not see a nice loss tomorrow because of it; however, I do remember the "oily voids" that normally appear a couple of days later. With the probiotics I'm taking, I'm really not sure what I'll see but enough of that, here's what I had today:

Hump Day - On the Downhill Slope

I won't even utter what my weight was, yesterday. Scary! I did document it on thedailyplate and have been keeping that pretty consistent. The nice things is that I did show a two pound loss this morning. The water weight is still there, but I don't feel as bloated. I always forget; is it two or three days after TOM that the water goes away completely? I'm hoping it's two, because today is my last day and I'd like to enjoy a piece of Julian bread again before the week ends (if possible).

Yes. I've been revisiting P3 food options to try and correct the damage from the weekend. It seems to be working. I haven't worked out again this week, but plan to tomorrow (I don't have calls that start at 6:00am, thankfully so I'll actually be able to get in my 30 minutes - -I'm a morning workout, girl).

The salt is way too high and I'm steadily sipping on my water and chastising myself for going salt overboard. I plan to do much better tomorrow. Here are my totals for the past couple of days:

Weekend in Vegas - Protein Day

Well, hubby and I had our weekend away. It started off nice enough, but things quickly turned down hill. It's the usual story; hubby and wife get away from the children and then find that there are irritations that go beyond the children and home life. The good news is that we made up, once we got home. We try to work things out whenever we argue it's just some things are harder to get over than others.

Hubby was there to support a friend in a body building show. I was invited to spend the free time with him. Having been to Vegas lots of times, we steered clear of the strip and visited the malls and outlet stores. We also went to our favorite places to eat. Unfortunately, the economy has had it's effect on those, too. Dang it!

The French Market Buffet is rated on of the best in town. We've been several times and have never been disappointed...until Saturday. Ugh! What the heck?! Low quality, tasteless, hard. You name it, we found it. The best thing was the strawberry shortcake and it wasn't even that great. Even the crab legs were ice cold. Bleck! We went to a chicken strip joint Friday night that was oh, so mediocre. (I saved up my carb gram allotment for this?!) We went to In and Out. It was the only thing good that we had, and they're building one right around the corner from my mother's house. Doggone it! We could have waited and ate that here!

I worked out with hubby on Friday afternoon for about 45 minutes and we swam on Saturday (I'm still sore from the swimming) TOM decided to show up Saturday morning, which was three days early after the change in elevation. We went from 4300 feet above sea level to 2000. I've had this happen before...like, getting on a plane to go somewhere and viola! Hello, TOM. So, I didn't weigh the entire time I was gone and I didn't weigh this morning. I had a protein day to sort of counter-act all the drama over the weekend (so not worth it and it's such a shame). I will allow myself more carbs later in the week and, hopefully, they'll be better than what we had this weekend. Here's what I had today:

Oh! I forgot to add my slice of Julian bread with dinner. I thought the fiber would be good to get things "moving", if you know what I mean. The count is so high that the carbs or unsubstantial but I thought I'd at least mention that I had it. Happy Monday!

R2, P4 Day 3 - July 28th (a day behind, again...)

I've got to get to bed earlier. Seriously! Things just aren't good if I don't get enough sleep. Cool news, though; I worked out, yesterday morning. Wow! It felt great and I went longer than I initially planned.

Not having performed any sort of cardio for a while, I gave myself a 20 minute max to work with. It's a good idea to start off slow, when you've been in dry-dock for months. Well, I'm chugging along on the elliptical and realize that I'm doing okay. Nothing is burning uncontrollably and my heart-rate was at a good, steady pace. I kept going. Thirty minutes was my log time. Hooray! But did I stop there? Of course not! I grabbed some light, free-weights and ran through three sets for my biceps, triceps and shoulder-caps. I'm not sore today, but I have a feeling that I will be tomorrow (it usually takes a day or so for my body to figure out what I've been doing to it).

I'm off workouts today, aside from a stroll with hubby later (maybe). He wants to do a guest-pass at a gym tomorrow, when we take off for our trip. Back in the gym...that ought to be interesting. I'll certainly have to pace myself there and make sure he doesn't have me on every machine, trying it out (that crazy man). ;)

I was up in weight, yesterday morning, but I know it's because the salt is here and TOM is on the way. I opted for a mostly protein day, only getting my carbs from the Julian bread (love that stuff...just wish it weren't so dang expensive) and ketchup from my burgers (not much). Please note that the Daily Plate takes your workout time away from your total calories, so the calories listed are net not gross: Here's what I had:

R2, P4 Day 2 - Caught in the Rain

We went into Salt Lake last night to say good-bye to the girls' pediatrician (who is retiring). It was a bitter-sweet trip, but I was glad we made it out there to see him. It started raining hard and the temperature dropped 30 degrees in about fifteen minutes. We were wet, but it wasn't cold. We came back home and the temperature was 30 degrees warmer in our area. Crazy weather! I suppose that was enough to give me a cough.

I've been drinking tea all day. I could probably build a mountain from all the tea bags I've used. The food intake was pretty good, but I went higher on the carbs than I would have liked (but the sugar intake was low). The protein, of course, was nice and high. We'll see what tomorrow brings:

Here's what I had tonight:

I was 141.2lbs this morning; a .4llb loss from yesterday. I've decided I will be careful documenting everything here for P4 until mid August. After that, I will post occasionally with any updates or changes as I incorporate my work-out routine. My sister is trying to get me to model so, if I tone this body, I'll consider it.
