R6, P3, Day 6 - Correction Day!

Oh, so bad this morning and oh so bloated! I think I'm having my period (so to speak). My lower back is screaming and the salt just won't leave (of course, I keep adding more salt to the problem, so

that's my fault for sure. I was at 177.2lbs this morning, a 1.4lb gain since yesterday.

I didn't cancel my dinner engagement with my friend. Instead, I planned around it. I had my two liters of water today, along with a cup of coffee at lunch, then chicken tandoori for dinner (delicious!). I hope eating the chicken pieces will make a difference for tomorrow. I made Taco Bake for my girls for dinner, so I'll have that for lunch tomorrow (assuming the salt will high-tail it out of here). Still don't have my Oopsie rolls though (I'll take care of that tomorrow, too). Here's the tally for today:

R2, P3 Day 18 - Steak Day

Yep. I broke down and had one today. Well, steak-like food, anyway. The T-bones were gone and hubby had eaten the rest of the sirloin as well. I was waiting for him to get home (since he said he would be home earlier today). No such luck. By 6:30pm, I was ready to gnaw off my own arm so we went to Burger King, the kids and I. I opted for Whopper Jr.s with no bread, no ketchup and no cheese. I also had a side salad. I had no coffee with cream today, so I gave myself permission to a little ranch dressing with my salad. That should certainly correct the salt damage I incurred upon myself from yesterday.

Here's what I had:

I was pretty content with being around 142 and 143, even though it's 2lbs above my LIW. I felt that if that's where my body stabilized, than that's where I needed to be. When the scale said 144.2lbs this morning, I had to factor in a correction day. I refuse to let things spiral out of control before I go to P4 next week. I keep telling hubby that I may need to do one last shorty round after our vacation in September. He is still not happy about that (I am pretty small already for my height, surprisingly...even smaller than when we met in college. I wonder if he's afraid he might break me?) ;-)

Oh, and here's the musical for the day (my eldest loved it):

R2, P3 Day 7 - Steak Day Number 2

I kind of knew it was coming, after I saw yesterday's salt intake. I should have had a double salmon order at Red Lobster rather than the crab legs. They have so much salt that it just blows my mind! Crab legs need to be saved for days when the salt intake is low, or one plans on drinking buckets and buckets of water.

It's all good, though. I just ate my steak and apple and will drink some coffee and tea before bed.

R2, P3 Day 3 - Steak Day!

I wasn't going to but, it just sort of worked out this way. I was so busy with work that I never ate. I literally forgot to eat! I used to say, "It takes a special kind of stupid for you to forget to eat." Oh, well. So, I decided (since I am up two pounds above LIW anyway and despite TOM) I might as well do a steak day. Everything sort of put me in that position (hubby bought fresh sirloin last night and put it in the fridge for me to cook for my meal today). How about that!

After tracking my weight into my online document, I decided to look at last round's P3 to gain a little clarity. Not only did I have to do a steak day two days after P3 started the last time, but I was also in the midst of my TOM. Craziness! Seems I can't win for losing with this water retention game and TOM. ;) So, I also noted the days when the weight was at its most stable. Protein anywhere over 50 grams seems to be best for me. Also, the days where protein was it's heaviest, I usually had a loss or no change the next day. There you have it! It seems I am capable of learning after all. :)

Here's the steak day info:

P4 Day 17 - "Away with You, Salt!"

I had a pseudo Steak-day (pseudo because I ate guacamole with my steak). I want this salt gone once and for all. If this doesn't do it (along with my workout this morning), I don't know what will. Thankfully, I was down a bit this morning so I know it's trying to leave, anyway.

Here's what I had today:

P3 Day 16 - Steak Day!

So, what do you get when you eat salt-laden Canadian bacon for dinner? Why, a steak-day, of course. I should have known. When I used to "diet" and eat Canadian bacon as a staple, I always retained major water. This time, it was to the tune of a 1.8lb gain in water. Nice. (It's the way that they cure the meat.) You know, over doing the salt and carbs is what's going to get me in P4 if I'm not careful. I'll really have to watch those two things.

I think calorie and fat wise I was fine, yesterday. Salt was my enemy and thus the reason for my fast. It was a hard steak-day and I certainly do not like them. Doubly hard was that my work computer picked up that blasted Trojan virus, which made things even more difficult. The consolation? Hubby fasted today with me, so I wouldn't have to suffer alone. What a guy!

Sadly, but not unexpectedly, I was 161.4lbs this morning. I think 161 is my water retention weight.

P3 Day 9 - You Reap What you Sow or Otherwise Known as Payback!

Steak day. Yep. Knew it was coming. Not much to tell except I haven't eaten a thing all day (still haven't, but the steak is coming of the grill as I type this). I'll have the beef flat iron an apple and some tea. I had my 80 ounces today, one cup of green tea (for breakfast) and a cup of Folgers decaf for lunch. Exciting, right? That steak better be good cause I'm one hungry chick.

Oh, and the reason? The super high fat day (no more Nathan's or super high cholesterol shrimp for me for a while). I had a .8lb gain from yesterday. So, I was 162.6 this morning. Ugh!

P3 Day 3 - Steak Day

Oh, well. I drank and drank and drank till I was floating away. Then, I had a ginormous steak that I couldn't finish, along with my apple for dinner. I really hope this works because I don't want to have to do this again any time soon. Not that it was incredibly difficult, it was just sad to miss meals all day, when (if I'd planned better), I wouldn't have had too.

I didn't have time to pick up the scale like I planned and I wonder if I'll have time at all this week. Spring break spoiled me; no running kids to every place under the sun. This week, it's back to being a Mom-Taxi. Gymnastics on Tuesday, dance for one kid on Wednesday and dance for the other on Thursday. Saturday, another competition to drive too. I'll be so happy when these kids learn how to drive themselves (I think). :)

Other than I had to have a steak day, there's really nothing to tell. I'm praying hard that I dropped this blasted weight and will be able to partake in some healthy goodies tomorrow for my coworkers shower. I pre-ordered chicken skewers and Miso soup. Can't go wrong there, can I? I suppose I'll have to eat it anyway, even if I don't drop the weight (since I pre-ordered and all). I knew P3 was going to be tricky. No surprises here.

Sadly, I was 161.5 this morning. I loathe being back in the 160s, as bizarre as that sounds. I'm really being quite hard on myself. Better stop that.
