R2, P2, VLCD 12 - Sunday Drive

Hubby went to church with us this morning. After wards, we sat in the Carl's Jr. (Hardee's for you Easterners and Southerners) drive through for fifteen minutes. No fooling! When the car at the window finally received its food, the cashier appeared to hand the customers one of those paper grocery bags. What the heck?! Anyway, hubby was getting their 2 for $2 sausage, egg and cheese biscuits for himself and the girls. I had a lovely coffee.

After breakfast, the girls went outside to play and hubby and I watched a movie. After the movie (a long movie at that) we went to lunch at the Mongolian place. Heaven! I could easily become an addict. Hubby liked it too and the girls ate very well. I know eating out will always take me just to or slightly above the 500 range. The good news is that we did a lot of walking around at stores and such. Also, I got in more water than I've been getting and the excess calories are usually from veggies. So, I'm totally not worried. Weekdays are pretty typical and my loses should (hopefully) return to normal. I tried to skip out on dinner to compensate (hubby wasn't having it).

We drove around looking at neighborhoods and the gargantuan houses in our neighborhood. It's fun to do this every now and again. It was also just enough driving to put our girls to sleep. When we got home, hubby got them all set up with an oscillating sprinkler to have a water play-day. They loved it! I'm sure there will be plenty more in their future.

So, here's my "over-the-limit-a-little" day today:

R2, P2, VLCD 11 - Finally Hit 500!

And it's only because we ate out. Wendy's patties, a side salad, and a generous helping of mustard to taste. The calorie counter says 528 but I removed all the carrots, so I'm probably sitting right at 500 for the first time. Wow! I hope it doesn't cause damage for tomorrow's weigh-in. My body's not use to this staggering amount of calories on HCG. (chuckle, chuckle)

Oh, and I had a Sprite Zero (courtesy of hubby). Everyone had Slurpees and he didn't want me to be left out. I argued, but then I caved. First aspartame in a long, long while.

R2, P2, VLCD 10 - Mongolian Salt

I didn't post, yesterday (June 4th) due to wireless router drama. All appears to be well today, well, at least where my Internet is concerned. From June 3rd into June 4th, I weighed .8lbs less at 151.4lbs which was great. Any dreams of achieving the 140s by this weekend went out the door after yesterday's taxing events.

Friday was field day at school so, ever the doting mother, I went over to volunteer and help with the games. It was our first 80 degree day and the field has little shade. I could kick myself for not bringing my water. That and not eating before I went nearly laid me out flat in the grass. It was 11:30 and I thought, "I'll just treat myself and the oldest to lunch after the activities. I'm sure she'll be hungry again."

The sun beat down on us mercilessly. The other mother I was working with, Cory, is a nurse by trade. I didn't want to have to put her skills to use but I did warn her that I was feeling light headed and several times I saw the trees move from one place to another. Yikes! I would sit down and keep helping, but it was a difficult.

Finally, around 1:30pm, we ended the day and I took us to the new Mongolian BBQ place. I knew I could do this type of food because I was able to eat it on our trip south for her dance competition. So long as my vegetables overruled my meat portion, I still had good loses.

Well, this place must ladle on the salt in their sauces because we sat down to eat and I nearly pickled my lips. Oh, don't get me wrong, the food was delicious but wow, the salt! I went through my 24oz cup of water in no time. All the rest of the day, I felt like a Macey's Day float just ready to explode.

Considering how I felt, I passed on my evening meal and opted for lots of tea and water to help alleviate the salt issues. I'm very glad that I did. My gain this morning (purely water, because now I can tell what that feels like over a pure fat gain) was 1.4lbs (which put me at 152.8lbs this morning, June 5th). This could have been much, much worse with the way I was feeling all day, yesterday. I'll have to remember to keep the sauces (at this place) on the light side. The one down south, I could ladle them on with no problem. I'm sure being out in the hot sun for two hours straight probably didn't help either.

So, June 4th, I had Mongolian Salt BBQ and tea. I'll post today's food diary this evening. I'm sure it will look like all the other days, minus the buckets of salt.

R2, P2, VLCD 9 - 400 Calories today!

I can't believe it! Not sure how I broached the 400 mark, but I'll take it. Still feeling pretty good, but not happy about all the ads at dinner time. I try to avoid them as much as possible. I think those will always be an issue for me.

Tomorrow's the last day of school and I'm planning on going to field day to support their activities. It's usually lots of fun and we can get pretty wet. I'll have to be sure to dress appropriately. Even though it's nearly Friday and it's been a short week, it has taken forever to get through. I'm hoping, once I have a fuller work schedule, the days will fly by. Here's to hoping!

I was down a pound from yesterday. Hubby is flabbergasted about how I look and feel. I can see the thinness in my face. It's sort of bizarre because with it comes a bit of aging (I've never looked my age). I hope that I don't start looking like the "crypt keeper".

R2, P2, VLCD 8 - Oh, the Smell of Baking

I was down .8lbs this morning. I had a cup of coffee that is just now wearing off (I don't do caffeine well). Anyway, it had me racing. I drank it because I didn't get much sleep last night. I'm going to try and get to bed on time tonight so that I'm not feeling like a zombie tomorrow.

The girls would have had fast food tonight (dance night) but I opted for a quick fix, skillet meal from the grocery store. It was a Bird's Eye meal with shrimp and pasta. My eldest loved most of it (I saw that she picked out all the yellow and red peppers). Oh, to have a pepper and she's tossing them! Kids. I baked brownies for the girls for their dessert. The entire house is permeated with the smell of chocolate. Yum! My kids decided ice cream cones would be better. Kids.

R2, P2, VLCD 7 - Real Honey Dijon Vs. the Fake

I tried the Walden Farms salad dressing version of Honey Dijon. It had a weird aftertaste and under-taste (if that makes sense). I then had a couple of teaspoons of regular honey Dijon with my grilled chicken. Absolutely wonderful! I may add it to my spinach salad tomorrow over the Walden Farms dressing. Someone on the message boards said it wasn't one of their favorite flavors, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. Oh, well. Perhaps I'll give another flavor a try later on.

My kids and I are watching the Labyrinth. So many childhood memories. Jim Henson was a huge part of kiddom for me, may he rest in peace. I decided to find something we could all watch, rather than something just for the kids that may have tested my gag reflex. ;)

Down another 1.4lbs this morning. Woohoo! I also just steamed a new head of cabbage for the week. I gotta get those asparagus stalks steamed at some point, too. We're out of season for them, so I can't eat them as frequently as I did in early spring (they are getting too expensive).
