R7, P3, Day 16 - Skipping Days To Blog, but Doing Well

I haven't posted for the past couple of days, but I have documented (for the most part) what I've been doing on the daily plate. I'm going to attempt to put it all in this post. For day 14, I had a .2lb gain from the day before. Nothing major and no worries. I spent the day eating well and getting in my workouts. I neglected to put in what I ate for lunch and dinner. For the life of me, I can't remember what I had but, here's what I documented on March 28th:

For March 29th, I had a .4lb increase. Still within the green, I didn't panic and ate well. In fact, I got in one, very intense standing pilates workout that had me sweating buckets by the end. It's amazing! I didn't feel like I was exerting much effort, but because you do so much core work, your body works harder to stabilize. My stabilizers aren't the best and I should probably do this workout with every opportunity I can find. The downside is that it's 48 minutes long. This is definitely not a workout that I can do before work and school. Here's what I had for yesterday:

Today, it was a movie day, so I took one of my sugar free chocolate bars in with me. So, good! I'm paying for it now with the immense bloating and gas. I ate half at the theater (after a breakfast of meat and eggs) and half during lunch. I should probably save the second half in the future. It's quite a bit of malitol and I know I'm going to be living with the gas for the rest of the night. I'm trying to neutralize it with sprite zero. We'll see how it goes.

Oh, and we saw Noah in IMAX. A wonderful film (part history and fantasy). If you take it as such, it's very enjoyable. If you're looking for historical accuracy, look to the Bible. I was teary eyed plenty of times and was more than a little irked at some of the plot terms, but the film is beautiful (visually) to watch and the acting is wonderful.

I had a .4lb drop from yesterday. I'm sure it was the Pilates that did it. May have to look for other workouts that offer the same kind of strengthening. Here's what I had today (keeping in mind that the daily plate does not recognize sugar alcohol and the canceling out of regular carbs, due to it):

R7, P3, Day 13 - Rain, Snow, Sleet and Hail

Yep! We had all of that, including lightening today. Crazy spring weather that blew in out of nowhere. It's fine because I know it won't last; however, I'm frozen this evening and had to kick up the heat to be more comfortable.

Aside - my hubby is a chocolate addict in denial. It's rather funny.

Because I had to handle carpool alone today, I ended up going into work an hour later. This meant

more time to run errands in the morning, including a treat from Denny's: their meat lover's omelet. I love them, but I know they are high in fat and calories. Not really a problem when you're in P3 or low-carbing; however, when I did a search in MyPlate, it came up with having a lot of carbs, too. I can't fathom where they are coming from. It's probably 95% protein in what's in it (eggs, cheese, bacon, steak, onions and a few peppers). I wonder if the count is wrong on the site.

At any rate, I tried to aid the issue by getting in another workout. Not sure if it worked, but oddly, I felt really good after the second one. I think when I'm doing the morning workout, I'm still partially asleep and the endorphins don't kick in until later. Whatever it was, I started thinking that I'll appreciate getting in the afternoon workout at the gym in the coming weeks (even if it's just cardio).

I had a .6lb loss this morning (170.4lbs). With what happened today, I'll probably have another gain (especially if the carbs for the eggs are accurate).

R7, P3, Day 12 - A Salt Water Release

I guess that's what happened this morning and throughout the day. My hope is to one day gauge how long it takes for the release to happen, once the salt overload occurs. Not that I'm trying to go overboard on salt but, it can happen when one lives a low-carb life. I was down to 171 this morning (a 1.2lb loss). With my crab dinner tonight, I may be right back up to needing another correction tomorrow. The meat is so light, tender and tasty. Why does it have to be so blasted salty as well?

My hope is that the super cleanse and probiotic combo/punch will keep things in check. I'm also still on the miralax. It seems to be all about my bowels this P3. It's happiness for now.

Here's what I had:

R7, P3, Day 11 - Correction with Lunch Out

Seems like I had to do a correction during R6 that included a night of eating out. Today, it was an afternoon and boy, was I nervous! I ordered the small, chicken coconut curry (no rice) and side salad. I drank 24 ounces of water with my lunch. This morning, I had about 24 ounces of water, along with my coffee. For dinner? Chicken thighs and a nice cup of tea. Please, oh please let me be in the green tomorrow! Corrections are no fun, even if you're doing something other than a steak day (those are really no fun).

My eldest still doesn't know if she's captain or not. Both returners expressed that they were fine with being either. The coach indicated that they will spend the summer getting to know each other, then she will have the girls vote (leaving the final vote for herself). It should be an interesting summer.

The mothers seem to be eager to help, but I sensed some hesitancy with some of them. I know that being the only chocolate chip, they probably don't know how to take me. They better get over it because I'm here to stay. I helped the coach with some ideas and sent her pictures of my daughter's current outfits, so she'll know what the girls already have. The coach seems eager to make the year work and I love that she's so enthusiastic (she has a 4 month old daughter and a two year old son), so she's already asking for parental help. Here I am!

Zaura seems excited and she's really glad that the coach is listening to all of the girls and their ideas. I hope it will be a great year for all of them.

I had a 1.6lb gain (172.2lbs) in salt, salt salt (yep...already determined what it is). I'll take my Miralax tonight nd tomorrow. That should be the end of my seven days. It's truly been like pudding, but I don't want to lose the flow (ha!). Here's what I had:

R7, P3, Day 10 - So, Very Tired

I woke up ravenous this morning (no dinner last night). I ate my egg whites and bacon for breakfast. Then, two cheese sticks when I got to work, along with some cocktail peanuts. That seemed to do the trick. Lots and lots of salt today (not good), but my dinner was meek. I'm trying to get the ratios together. Big breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner. I had a small loss from yesterday .2lbs, which still has me in the blasted 170s. I'll be glad when they go away, permanently.

I have a physical on Thursday and lunch with a friend, tomorrow. I also have cheer fittings with my eldest tomorrow (along with a chunk of money down for the uniform). I'll be a busy bee for the next few days. My goal for tomorrow is to try not to go overboard with the meal (I'll be opting out of the rice, of course, and taking chicken over my normal tofu). As for Thursday, it would be nice to be back in the lower range. We'll see what happens. I'll just keep drinking my water.

P. S. I have this odd powdered milk listing because I'm not sure what 7-Eleven uses for their coffee. This may or may not be accurate. For the next few days, I'll be making my own coffee with my half and half (fewer carbs and calories).

R7, P3, Day 9 - Another Grumpy Hubby Sunday

It didn't start off that way, at least. We went to church and heard a wonderful message, then home to a brunch that I prepared for eight people (two, low-carb quiches, turkey sausage kielbasa, buttermilk pancakes, pumpkin soup and cinnamon rolls). Everyone raved and I barely ate, which typically is the case when I cook for a larger group of people.

The immediate family then went for a drive where I took pictures of some  deer, a llama and a turkey.  We were driving in hubby's four runner. A lead-foot in any car, he really tends to up the anti in this monster of a vehicle. It scares the crap out of me! I fussed at him a few times for going over the speed limit (25mph in this particular neighborhood of gargantuan homes). After which, he ceased in speaking to me. Fine! I cooked all day with no help from him and he wants to give me attitude?! To make matters worse, we went to the store and I brought up the fact that he didn't purchase a side item for the baked chicken he'd chosen for dinner. We had talked about artichoke/spinach dip yesterday, so I thought, why not get it today?

"There's guacamole at home," he said.

"Oh. Is there enough," I asked.

"There's enough for me."

WTH?! Well that's just great, I said to him out loud. Then, he started back-pedaling and said something about there being salad, too. At that point, I tuned him out and clammed up myself. It's been that way ever since. He's also been taking his anger/frustration out on the girls. It's all I can take at this point. I've since showered and closed the door on everything. I'm actually looking forward to everyone just going to bed and the day ending. So sad, especially since it was so beautiful and it was a day of service. Why does this keep happening?

I suppose the upside is that, whenever I'm depressed, I don't eat. All I had today were the couple of slices of quiche I managed to snag before my relatives at everything. I had a larger than expected gain from yesterday (1.4lbs, taking me to 170.8lbs after a small void). I gather the salt from the chicken wings was the culprit. There's plenty of salt in the quiche I had today, but I'm hopeful my low calorie count will work in my favor. Not something I plan to do often but, there you have it. Here's the scoop:

R7, P3, Day 6 - First Correction for Round 7

UPDATE on MARCH 21 - I was incorrect! My LIW was 169.8, so I was not over, yesterday. Even still, the correction was a great motivator to get things moving. :)

The scale mocked me with a 170.2lb weight this morning, which puts me 2.4lbs above my LIW. Not only that, but I knew I was going to weigh heavy as soon as I got up. The bloat was unmistakable. My Super Cleanse/Apple Cider Vinegar sucker punch did nothing! So, I drank a huge Smart Water, Coffee, Tea and ate chicken for lunch and dinner (having a sugar-free coconut chocolate, just because). I added a cap-ful of Miralax to the last of my water and prayed.

Just before dinner, I had a nice void. There may be more to come, which would suit me just fine. I felt so much better. Truly! It shouldn't take this much just to get the works moving again. I'm checking that lady's site today to see what probiotics she takes on P3. She takes five a day and I know I don't have enough to do that much for a three week period.

Here's to a nice loss tomorrow and a few more voids (if possible):

R7, P3, Day 5 - Pushing It

I was right at two pounds above LIW today (169.8lbs). Yikes! I am holding onto some serious water and I'm sure the weight training isn't helping with the water retention. I have a fear that a release won't happen and I'll have to do a correction day tomorrow. Ugh! Please, please have mercy, dear Lord. Allow for the flood gates to open so that all the water I'm holding onto will leave me and not return. I tried to take it easy with the salt today, drank a lot (still drinking) and took an extra Super Cleanse to aid with the process. I even hit some of that horrible, apple cider vinegar, too. Hubby asked if I would use the potty at the local gas station when things do get moving. It's definitely going to be

wretched.

Instead of weight training this morning, I opted for Cardio before lunch. A bit of the Michael Jackson Experience sure gets the blood pumping. Four hard songs (Sunset Driver, Ghosts, Black or White, Remember the Time) and one easy for a cool down (Who is it?) is a great workout (and it's fun).  I was sweating like a pig and the shower afterward was most appreciated. Next time, I'll have to remember to wear my heart rate monitor. The numbers below are a guesstimate. Who knows how many calories I truly burned!
