R3, P2, VLCD 10 and 11 - The Short of It

I've been close to (or above) 800 calories for the past two days. Yesterday, I uped my dose and that made a huge difference in the hungries. Now, I know that TOM is on the warpath. Tomorrow, I'll be able to handle things a bit better (I think) knowing now what I'm dealing with . For Thursday, into Friday I had a .6lb loss and weighed in at 152.4lbs. For today, I had a 1.2lb loss and weighed in at 151.2lbs. Nice.

I had a lot of salt today, so I'm trying to drink, drink, drink before bedtime (because that's a smart thing to do. Sigh...):

R3, P2, VLCD 9 - Ravenous and Crazy

I was so hungry on Thursday. Hubby treated me and the little one to lunch at the Mongolian Grill. It was fabulous. But, even after two bowls of cabbage and chicken/beef, I was still hungry. I drank a bunch of water and waited it out. I suggested to hubby that I may have to up my dose, since the hungries just won't go away. He said that, "If you're doing a short round and will have to throw out the rest anyway when you're done, why not?" We had chicken for dinner and I seemed to be okay at bedtime.

Here's what I had Thursday:

I had the maple grove dressing for the first time, last night (I found it at my local grocer's for $1.99 a bottle). Where was this stuff two rounds ago? It's lovely and without the carbs. I'll be using it the remainder of the round, I think. Despite my troubles, I maintained my weight from Wednesday and was at 153lbs.

R3, P2, VLCD 8 - Cheating and Losing

It's awful that I've been cheating (hard round), but I'm still losing. The cheating is happening in that I'm eating more than 3 ounces of meat with each meal (more like 4 or 5, for some). I think I would be harder on myself if I were looking at horrible gains. Maybe I need a horrible gain to put me back on track. Ugh!

Anyway, this morning was off to a good start. The afternoon, I had my fish, cabbage and (rather than my Melba or Wasa) I had a slice of my church member's zucchini bread. I felt guilty because she made it specifically for me and I know it won't. It really tastes like she used a stevia sweetener or something rather than sugar but that's certainly no reason to justify. Just to make sure, I finished it up tonight and it's gone (only one slice left). I think that's the last of the temptations. Even with all the buckets of candy around here from Halloween, I haven't had one.

Despite being a Cheater McCheatster, I was just above the 500 calorie mark. Here's what I had:

R3, P2, VLCD 7 - Looking Towards the Future

As I go through this process again, I'm very optimistic. I know that protein is my friend and I did very, very well on P3 and a modified protein P4. Hubby keeps giving me the I told you so look, whenever I talk about how well my body responds to proteins. I also do well with mild, aerobic exercise (not the "killing myself" stuff I was doing before). I keep reminding hubby that we have to put the treadmill together soon. I don't want to be thwarted because I don't have the tools to make my plan work.

I need to go shopping again?! I'm not a big shopper to begin with and it's weird that it's something I have to do. The "summer clear-out" of all my 12s and 10s left me with very little so, I restocked an entirely new summer wardrobe (some consignment thrown in as well). Now, it's 40 degrees and my shorty shorts and cute little dresses are impractical. I bought some $5.00 Hanes sweatpants last weekend and wore a size 8 (too big) velvet dress to church on Sunday. I can't wear the same dress every Sunday and the pants will label me after a while. Time to by fall and winter gear. I guess this is just as good a time as any.

Here's what I had on Tuesday, November 2nd:

R3, P2, VLCD 6 - Happy November

Happy All Saint's Day! Nobody talks about this one. Halloween gets all the props. Although I'm not catholic, I believe I've got an "in" with St. Francis of Assisi. I've always had a way with animals and it seems I've passed that gift along to my children.

I had a gain (slight, and not unexpected) and since I had orange roughy for dinner, I'm wondering if I'll have another tomorrow. It's one of those fishes that is a bit oily and usually causes a rise in my weight for a day or two. The nice thing is that, just after an oily void (I know...too much information), I have a nice loss. We shall see if the same holds true on this round.

I'm already dreaming of P3 (which should coincide the week of Thanksgiving) and am itching for all my yummy, cheesy favorites. I don't dare make any of those treats while I'm on P2, for fear of cheating. I'm the exception; everyone on the boards has the hardest time with their second round, while I'm doing all I can to scheme on my third. I hope this doesn't happen again (if there is a need for a fourth round in the future). Here's what else I had today:

Mood: Guilty

Well, if nothing else, the protocol proves that salt is not part of the abnormal fat supply. I had a .4lb gain due to water retention and, perhaps, starch in my hot and sour soup. Will do better today. [edit this diary entry]

I had a .4lb increase, which put me at 155 pounds on the nose this morning. Each day is a new beginning, though. The weekend is over and I was very good. Hopefully, my good deeds will server me in the morning.
